Tia Diaz-Balart /Business Development
Tia Diaz-Balart is the founder of the EcoChamber; the first and only global green chamber of commerce. The EcoChamber seeks to further the environmental and business interests of its Members by expandingnetworks, advocating policy positions to relevant government officials, showcasing industry leaders and supporting the next generation of environmental educators and innovators.
Prior to the EcoChamber, Tia was a partner in Gordon/Diaz-Balart, a South Florida public affairs, marketing and communications firm. Tia previously spent six years as a National Sales and Marketing Manager at Hewlett-Packard serving clients which included Office Depot, Staples and Wal-Mart. Before Hewlett-Packard, Tia was a Director at Gordon|Diaz-Balart implementing lobbying and grassroots campaigns for the telecommunications, agriculture and alternative fuel industries such as United HealthCare, Florida Crystals and the Tri-County Authority. Prior positions include Finance Director for a Florida Secretary of State Election campaign and the Corporate Coordinator for the Hemispheric Summit of the Americas hosted by the White House.
Tia is active within the community and serves on the steering committee of the United States Conference of AIDS, is on the national committee for the American Red Cross Annual Gala and works to support the Caribbean Heart Menders which is a group of health professionals who provide free life-saving surgery in the poorest Caribbean countries to children who would otherwise not survive.
She is also the Founder of Kids at Ease, a non-profit organization providing services and funding research to ease the trauma of children who are hospitalized.
Tia grew up in San Francisco, Washington, D.C and Houston, Texas, has studied in France and Spain and taught school in Chile. She moved to South Florida to begin her professional career after finishing her undergraduate work at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh
Gregory Clayton /Producer
Gregory Clayton attended California institute of the Arts. Having majored in advertising design, his skills gained him an immediate position as Art Director at Wells, Rich and Green Advertising Agency where he headed such accounts as Benson and Hedges , Colombia Pictures, and TWA. As his popularity grew, he began to freelance at other top agencies to work on their top accounts, most notably Suzuki at Grey advertising and Levis Strauss at BBDO.
Working with Columbia Also got him noticed in the feature film arena and he began to work exclusively with the major studios producing designs and full campaigns for Universal, 20th, MGM, Warners For such films as Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Romancing the Stone, Rocky IV, Tarzan, the list is endless. At this point in his career, he chose to take an extended sabbatical in Europe to further study art and architecture.
Upon his return he immersed himself in the realm of interactive design and is now a successful interactive business developer.
Valeska l. Jacques /Consultant
Valeska I. Jacques is Founder and President of uVium, an organizational consulting and training firm. She specializes in helping clients increase value through operational improvement, internet business strategies, and training. She is a Certified Business Process Management Consultant and has 6 years of experience in all aspects of internet technology; ranging from web design, software interface design and development, project management, and Internet strategy development. Her dedication to push the envelope with innovative ways to brand, market, and promote businesses on-line, while enhancing business processes and intelligence, shows how she reveals hidden revenue opportunities from a marketing and operational aspect.
Prior to her current activities, Valeska engineered the development of a web portal to motivate a sales force located throughout South America to improve efficiency across offices located throughout Europe, Central America and Miami. This web platform resulted in a web document storage solution that consolidated tasks surrounding communication. It was a solution well advanced for its times and the vision that started uVium.
Valeska is actively involved in the Miami community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women Business Owners Miami Chapter and Chairperson of the Miami Beach Pillar Trustee for the Public Relations Committee. She is also deeply involved in educating business owners about Internet Technology, a featured speaker at the National Association Women Business Owners E-Commerce Series and conducts webinars to a nationwide audience.
She recently partnered with Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce to pioneer the Miami Beach Technology Council to educate businesses on how to use Internet Technology to streamline operations, effectively market products and services, all while providing value to their clients and business partners.
